Issue Position: Lower Tax Burden

"People should be able to keep more of their paychecks." Marty Lamb
We face a steep cost of living in Massachusetts and our tax burden is not making it any easier. During this deep recession, while families have had to make some tough choices to balance the family budget, our state government has continued to reach into our wallets for more money. Two years ago it was the 25% hike in the sales tax and now they are considering new taxes on soda and candy and maybe even a gas tax increase.
Marty Lamb supports tax cuts to stimulate the economy and ease the burden on working Massachusetts residents.

Marty Lamb understands that new economic growth will help people prepare better for their retirement, save for their children's education, pay their mortgages and other needs. Most importantly, a thriving economy will create new jobs for the unemployed and under employed.

Marty Lamb is the only candidate who has signed the Citizens for Limited Taxation's "No New Taxes" pledge. As a family man, you can count on him to lower our tax burden when elected.

On the other hand, Representative Carolyn Dykema has not supported the working families or seniors of the district. For example, she voted to increase the sales tax 25% during this deep recession. According to the pro-taxpayer organization, Citizens for Limited Taxation, during the last legislative session Dykema voted 87% of the time against taxpayers.
